3/16 COVID-19: Letter to our clients

Letter to our clients

Telehealth option at NPC

With the spread and uncertainty of the COVID19 virus, North Psychology Clinic has decided to give our clients the option to choose when and how they receive their mental health care. It’s important to us that our clients continue to have access to quality health care and we want to remove barriers to receiving therapy, so most of our therapists are offering the option of receiving therapy services via Telehealth. Not all individuals or all therapy needs will be best served by this method, but this letter is to give you information about Telehealth to help you determine whether this is a good option for you.

Telehealth therapy is provided through a HIPAA compliant telehealth service (doxy.me). You will need to fill out a consent form for Telehealth services to ensure that you understand and agree to the conditions of telehealth services. You will also need to ensure that your phone or computer has the ability to support a streaming session. Your therapist will be using secure Wifi and servers to provide your services, and they will be providing Telehealth sessions from their therapy office or another confidential space.

In-office precautions

If you choose to continue to meet face to face, most of our therapists are still able to offer this service. If you are not a person who has been asked to self-quarantine or to avoid others for known contagion reasons, you can still attend sessions face to face. Our therapists will start your session right on the hour and end before the next hour to decrease the number of people in the waiting room. There are additional areas in the building that you can wait, as well, to increase social distance. And “drop off and go” is a great option for older children if you are not involved in their therapy session.

We want to assure you that we are taking additional precautions to protect everyone’s health. We will continue to clean our offices, waiting area, hard surfaces, fidgets, toys, door handles, etc. with disinfectant wipes. We will follow CDC guidelines about handwashing and using hand sanitizer, and we have installed hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the clinic for your use. If you are ill, please cancel your appointment. All late cancel fees are being waived at this time to ensure the health of everyone. We also ask that we don’t use handshakes or hugs in greeting.

We care about you and your health. You can call us at NPC, 763-531-0566 or you can email your therapist through our website, northpsychology.com to schedule an appointment or discuss your therapy needs.

Our best,

North Psychology Clinic
